The Society of the Friends of St. Patrick, Troy will hold its 113th Annual Dinner, Saturday evening, March 16, 2019 at 6PM at Franklin Terrace Ballroom on Campbell Avenue Troy.  Officers include, Gerard J. McGarvey, Chairman, Kevin M. Hedley, President, Matthew P. McGarvey, Vice President, Tyler P. Fane, Vice President, Hon. Ellen M. McNulty-Ryan, Toastmaster, Charles J. Diamond, Secretary, Jeanne Carras, Assistant Secretary, Michael J. Sullivan, Treasurer and L. Craig Bryce, Historian.  

The Society inducts new directors each year.  The new directors include the following five.


Loretta Branigan is an attorney, and has worked for the Hon. Henry F. Zwack as his Principal Court Attorney since 2012. Prior to that, since 19braniganlorettaPhoto93, she was the Confidential Law Clerk to Hon. Christian F. Hummel, both in Family Court and Surrogate's Court. She is a graduate of Niagara University and Albany Law School; a past president of the Castleton - Schodack Kiwanis; parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Castleton, where she sings in the choir; and a member of the Troy Kiwanis. Mom to two young adults, Hope Faron, a social worker with Springwell, Inc., of Waltham Massachusetts, and Ted Tobin, an RN on the surgical floor of Glens Falls Hospital. Loretta lives in Troy's Historic Sage with her two black labs, and spends her time gardening, enjoying Troy and traveling to Ireland to visit her extended family.

Dillon Casey is a professional building performance analyst and BPI certified energy auditor. He recently spent time working with
local nocaseydillonn-profit organization Commission on Economic Opportunity as a part of their Healthy Homes team. He was instrumental in both the EmPowerNY and Weatherization Assistance programs at CEO - helping local families in need throughout Rensselaer and Washington counties maintain safe, comfortable housing. He attended Troy High School and Corning Community College. Dillon is the grandson of Joe Casey, son of Colleen Casey and takes pride in being a fourth generation Trojan. The Society of the Friends of St. Patrick, Troy dinner has become an annual family tradition attending with father-in law John Mainello, and brothers in law John Kaniff & Josh Teal for the past several years. Dillon currently lives in the Sycaway neighborhood with his wife Angela.


John Kaniff, married to Theresa (Mainello) Kaniff and is the proud
father of a son, Austin.  They reside in the Sycaway neighborhood.  He is a graduatkaniffjohne of New Lebanon High School. John has been a drywall taper for over 18 years, most recently with District Council 35, Local 257 Ė Painters and Allied Trades Union.  He is trained in the efficient use of the drywall tools such as a bazooka and the use of stilts.  He enjoys volunteering at his sonís PTA sponsored events and volunteering with his sonís Brunswick baseball team. He enjoys the tradition of the Society dinner with his family.

Joshua K. Teal born and raised in Troy, married to Danielle
(Maitealjoshuanello) Teal for 3 years and proud father to Lucas Anthony Teal (22 months). Graduated from Troy High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College. Josh is a highly skilled H.V.A.C Technician with 12 years of experience working for Albany Mechanical Services. He enjoys being outdoors with his family and working in his garage. The Society of the Friends of St. Patrick, Troy dinner has become a family tradition attending with his father-in-law; John A. Mainello and his brother-in-laws; Dillon Casey and John Kaniff. Josh plans to continue this tradition with his son in years to come.

Kristin Swinton is a lifelong resident of the Village of Green Island and the proud mother of Madelon Swinton. She serves as CEO of
the GreenSwinton,_Kristin_photo_2019 Island Power Authority, a position she has held since 2008. She joined GIPA in December 2004 in a management capacity overseeing various aspects of the Authorityís operations and finances. Previously, she worked as a Legislative Analyst with the New York State Assemblyís Ways & Means Committee. She is the Chairperson of the Village of Green Island Planning Board, First Vice Chair of the Capital District Regional Planning Commission and a member of the Capital District Youth Center, Inc. representing Albany County. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Kristin earned a Master of Public Administration from the Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy in Albany where she was a member of the Pi Alpha National Honor Society and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Siena College in Loudonville.
